Identifying Scales for Native Instruments' Komplete Kontrol

Posted on: Sat, 29/06/2019 - 14:54 By: Peter

Introduction

The Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol software has a Scale mode which can be used to automatically indicate, map or form chords from the notes in a given musical scale.  There is a large number of available scales from the most common to some that are truly obscure.  If you know the scale you want you can just dial it up but, if your knowledge of all of these scales is limited, it can be difficult to find the scale that suits your needs.

The software presented here is designed to at least partially alleviate that problem.

Introduction

The AAG Cloudwatcher is a a box of sensors that can be used to monitor various weather conditions with the aim of closing the shutter/roof of an automated observatory when conditions are deemed unsafe.  A related piece of gear is the AAG Solo which is a small computer, based on a Raspberry Pi, which can read and display data from the Cloudwatcher via a web interface.

Introduction

This project describes a simple device to measure temperature and relative humidity and displays their values, along with the apparent temperature, often describe as “feels like”.

Electronics

The Circuit

The sensor used is the ubiquitous DHT21, a digital sensor which in this case is read via a small MCU chip, an ATtiny84, and the output displayed on a 16 character by 2 line LCD display.

The circuit schematic is shown below, and dxf files are available for download at the bottom of the page.
