The AAG Cloudwatcher is a a box of sensors that can be used to monitor various weather conditions with the aim of closing the shutter/roof of an automated observatory when conditions are deemed unsafe. A related piece of gear is the AAG Solo which is a small computer, based on a Raspberry Pi, which can read and display data from the Cloudwatcher via a web interface.
One of the potential problems with the LED based flats panel I described in a previous article is that if the exposure time used for flats is too short the resulting images can show banding - sometimes quite severely. The images below give a couple of examples.
UPDATE: Under certain circumstances it is possible that this panel can produce flats with moderate to severe banding. An explanation of why this happens and how to fix it is given in this article.
